Who needs another blog to read?
Absolutely no one, right? There are plenty of blogs out there to read, and let's just be honest... many of them are written by people much more eloquent than me... I... myself? Whatever.
But here is the thing, on my life's journey, especially where faith is concerned, I have often felt I am more on the outside than a part of the insider's club. I have found that I end up with more questions than I do answers and doubts are more of a common occurrence than not. This makes my more "confident" brothers and sisters uneasy. Sound familiar to you? Then perhaps you may find commonality with me on this journey.
As pastor of New Journey Church, a small affirming Non Denominational church in the Northern Virginia area (Centreville), I have the privilege of working with a team of folks who are committed to taking this amazing adventure we call faith together in a spirit of inclusion! It is our desire to create space where faith is cultivated and doesn't come in an easy-to-assemble kit with a set of pat answers and little room for questions.
To quote someone else who I would mention if I remembered who it was, we have a "Jesusy" approach to our spiritual journey and believe following his example of sacrificial love is our calling, and it "ain't" easy! This blog will feature stories from my own journey. Maybe it will resonate with you, or maybe it will just provide a good laugh at my expense with a few embarrassing stories that will make you feel much better about your own journey.
In addition to leading the team of New Journey Church, I am currently a Project Manager in the federal government IT space.

I will not send out emails every time you turn around, unless you only turn around about once a week, in which case that is about the number of times I will send out an email.
